US-based Red Wing Shoe Company has entered Malaysia by opening an outlet in Avenue K Shopping Mall, its first in the country as it aims to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia.
The brand is best known for its stylish and reliable working boots that made a name for itself during the industrial revolution. Red Wing Shoe was founded in 1905 in a small town in Minnesota, United States, where it still remains the headquarter for the brand.
“From oil rigs to shipping docks, factory floors to refineries, we have supported the Malaysian oil and gas workers for over three decades through our distribution channels,” said Paul Olson, managing director, Red Wing Eastern Hemisphere.
Red Wing Shoes employ over 2,000 employees and has presence in over 110 countries.
“We are now excited to offer workwear products, as well as new offerings for lifestyle and hiking footwear, through our Kuala Lumpur retail store,” added Olson. The store was opened in collaboration with Leeden National Oxygen, a longtime distribution partner of Red Wing Shoe.
“Red Wing Shoe Company has been a leader in the footwear industry for over 110 years, and for more than 50 years it has grown to become a top provider of head-to-toe solutions for the international energy industry.”
